In a world that often feels upside down, especially in Public Square, we rarely see moments of tranquility and respect in the midst of chaos. But that’s exactly what Elon Musk hosted at Wisconsin’s recent town hall. What began as a political and cultural conversation has turned into something very spiritual.

During the event the man stood up, sharing his admiration for the mask and thanked him for standing firm under enormous pressure. Then humbly he asked if his father (the pastor) could pray on Elon.

Musk agreed.

And then there was a moment when the crowd was caught off guard in the best possible way. The pastor prayed not only for Musk but for the nation with gentle integrity.

“Graceful Heavenly Father, we are grateful to our nation. We are grateful that God blessed America, that He is the source of all goodness, love and supply, and that You, the Lord God, has provided us with a great nation with a great history.

And we have gone through many tough times, but you are still very present and active in us.

Thank you for protecting President Trump from that deadly attack, and we ask you to envelop and protect all those who are fighting for justice, freedom and order, and to reward people for dignity and in accordance with merit.

And put your protective hedges around Elon Musk, especially around his children, his whole family and all his team members.

We ask this in the name of our blessed Savior Jesus Christ, who we remember during this time.

Wash away all the wrong things in our country and start with us.

We ask this by Jesus’ name, Amen. ”

The crowd responded with heartfelt applause and moved clearly. And, visibly moved, Elon simply said:

“Well, it was pretty. That’s what we, um, frankly, think we need God’s protection.”

In a country that is often divided into politics, power and ideology, this moment is a powerful reminder. We are not just a political battle. We are in a spiritual battle. And whether Elon Musk views himself as a person of faith, he was about to receive prayers from someone.

That alone speaks volume.

Now, more than ever, we need to lift our leaders in prayer, whether we agree with them or not. We are called to do so (1 Tim 2:1–2). I remember that true battles are against flesh and blood, against spiritual powers working behind the scenes (Ephesians 6:12).

So let’s take clues from that humble Wisconsin pastor and pray for Elon Musk, President Trump, and all of our country’s leaders.
