Apostles are special witnesses
Apostles are special witnesses of the name of Jesus Christ, a title he bestowed on twelve people chosen to be his closest followers and supporters in this life. Like the apostles on the meridian of time, today’s apostles are called to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.
The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is the second highest leadership body of the Church after the First Presidency. The latter is made up of three Apostles, with President Dallin H. Oaks, President of the Church, holding the most senior position among all the Apostles. Counselors in the First Presidency are President Henry B. Eyring and President D. Todd Christofferson.
