The Saturday afternoon session of the 196th annual general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was held April 4 at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City.
President D. Todd Christofferson, Second Counselor in the First Presidency, announced that seven General Authority Seventies will be conferred emeritus status on August 1. Additionally, eight new General Authority Seventy members were convened, and the new General Authority Seventy members were announced on August 1.
The session was moderated by Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Elder Scott D. Whiting of the General Authority Seventy and Sister Andrea Muñoz Spanaus, second counselor in the Young Women general presidency, offered the opening and closing prayers.
Music was provided by the Brigham Young University-Idaho Combined Chorus. They were conducted by Athina Coates, Eda Ashby, Paul Busselberg, and Randall Kempton, accompanied by organists Linda Margetts and Joseph Peoples.
