Some Democratic leaders in major cities claim violence is under control. This means that there is no need for public safety intervention from the Trump administration through the National Guard.
But Pastor Corey Brooks disagres and even says he would welcome federal intervention in his hometown of Chicago.

Brooks said in an interview with Fox & Friends on Wednesday that people in Windy City claim that crime levels have subsided are not living in reality.
“To say things are getting better and people are safe for everyone in our community, that’s a complete lie,” Brooks said.
Fox News noted that Chicago had 254 murders in the first 233 days of the year.
About four of the five victims were black boys.
Brooks, who leads a violence prevention program on the South Side called Project Hood, hopes President Donald Trump will step in.

“One of the government’s top priorities is to ensure that American citizens are safe. That should be the top priority for the governor and mayor, but that’s not,” he continued.
“When it comes to important black lives, what they really worry about is the issue of the black lives they vote,” he said of the democratic leadership of his city and nation.
As Fox News noted, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Gov. JB Pretzker scoffed Trump’s reported plans to mobilise the National Guard in their cities.
Trump has made headlines in recent weeks to secure Washington, D.C. by taking control of local police and mobilizing the National Guard.
As a result, violent crimes plummeted.

Brooks spoke about how crime has affected windy cities.
“There’s no doubt that crime is still a serious problem in Chicago,” he commented.
“We still have a mother burying young boys and our sons are prematurely dying, which is a serious problem,” he added.
“And that’s not right because individuals try to make us feel like we’re witnessing things get better.”

Brooks acknowledged that the solution should last longer than a single National Guard mission.
“We’ve noticed that the National Guard is a temporary fix, but it’s going to calm things down,” Brooks continued.
“Organisations like us are about continuing our solutions and bringing the help we need,” he said of Project Hood.
“We have to say something. We’ve made it known to the world that this is a Chicago issue,” he added. “And the mayor can’t tell the governor how that is said.”
