All women and young women who will turn 18 in 2026 are invited to participate in a worldwide gathering of devotion and testimony to be held on or near March 17 to celebrate the founding and purpose of the Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, Relief Society general president Camille N. Johnson, and her counselors Sister J. Annette Dennis and Sister Christine M. Yee will share messages in the recorded broadcast.
President Johnson said, “There is healing and strength when sisters come together. In moments like these, the Savior allows us to feel God’s love through each other.”
This information was announced in a January 15 letter to ward and stake leaders and a notice on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
Tuesday, March 17, 2026, marks the 184th anniversary of the founding of the Relief Society in Nauvoo, Illinois, on March 17, 1842. Relief Society sisters are invited to gather as a ward, branch, or stake to watch the broadcasts on days that suit their local needs.
The letter and event announcement describe the broadcast as being 30-40 minutes. Local meetings may open and close with prayer, and may include a testimonial meeting after viewing the broadcast.
President Johnson said his office hopes that sisters around the world will accept the Savior’s invitation to come to Him and find comfort. She said preparations for this broadcast had been guided by a deep awareness of the needs of sisters around the world. “The Savior knows your heart and your circumstances, and we felt His love for each of you,” she said.
Sister Denise said there is unity and encouragement in Relief Society, saying, “When we turn to the Lord, the Lord is with us. He calls us to support one another. We look forward to being together as sisters, feeling the Lord’s love, and encouraging one another.”
The broadcast will be available for download starting March 8 at the Gospel Library, broadcasts.ChurchofJesusChrist.org, and the Church’s Living the Gospel YouTube channel.
