Rei’s comforting secret to effective evangelism, why does he believe that “sinner’s prayer” is biblical – Faithful

Evangelist Ray’s comfort is known for his bold sharing of the gospel through film, social media and other creative means, but the founder of Living Waters is also passionate about one-on-one dialogue with young people.

Listen to the latest episodes of “Quick Start”

“I go to my local university twice a day, go to Huntington Beach on Saturdays, and shoot every time for my TV shows and YouTube channel,” Comfort says. “I will (again) go on an electric bike with my dog on the platform to my local university.”

His dog, who wears sunglasses during these excursions, is a great tool to open up conversations with students, break barriers and trigger gospel conversations.

“I love it every day,” Comfort said of these interactions.

The evangelist spent the last 50 years of outdoor sermons and last year released a book titled “50 Years of Outdoor Sermons: Everything I Learned.”

Comfort spoke about his approach to talking to young people. He often asks if they believe in the afterlife. If they say they don’t know, he asks if they are afraid of dying.

“And they look at me and say, ‘A little.’ And I said, “Are you kidding with you in a box? “And you can see their eyes widen.”

Conversations often progress from there, and comfort involves “their deepest depth of fear.” He then asks if they read the Bible, and he continues to use the issue of death as an foray into a conversation about eternal life.

“I say… So did you know that the Old Testament says that God promised him to destroy death?” he said. “And the New Testament tells us how he did… So why don’t you ask about it?”

Consolation said that even the atheists wanted to hear what he was saying about the matter, and opened the powerful door. Ultimately, he believes that these topics apply to everyone and there is a natural plot.

“Man is not a dog, a cat, a horse, or a cow. They are humans created in the image of God, and God places eternity in their hearts,” he said. “So they have a longing for life and a cry of, “Oh, I don’t want to die.” So I find many young people who are hostile if they deal with their intelligence, but I spoke to their conscience, so it opens them to the gospel. ”

One lesson learned by comfort is to avoid intellect being involved for too long, as it is a “place of conflict.” Instead, he enters a deeper, more unlimited arena.

“We learn to engage in conscience as Jesus did because Jesus is a place of harmony,” he said.

Comfort’s tactics worked one-on-one through the Living Waters YouTube channel.

The evangelist also spoke of some of the global examples he saw about the later periods of those who were punished for sharing their faith. From the European Buffer Zone to Paivi Lesanen, a member of the Finnish Parliament who has been tried to share biblical poems, these cases are troubling.

“I’m concerned about the future where people are trying to stop us from free speech, but that’s not going to stop me,” Comfort said. “Look at the book of deeds. The disciples said, “We hike… we obey God, not people.” ”

His point? He has no plans to stop spreading the gospel. Comfort also pointed out that we are privileged to share the truth in America now, pointing to daily evangelistic efforts at local universities.

And the faith leader has a message to those who say they can never preach his way outside.

“People are on roller coasters, risking their lives, jumping off planes, bungee jumping, and having great joy. Christians do that,” Comfort said. “Well, if you’re putting your life at risk for something stupid like bungee jumping or skydiving, why not risk your life by going to a local university and preaching the gospel?

Comfort also provided other useful tips, such as using trivia to attract audience attention. He sometimes gives away dollar bills to those who do it right. All this helps people embrace the gospel message.

Evangelists hope that people read “50 Years of Outdoor Sermons: Everything I Learned” and take away any hints they can use in their ministry. At 75, he knows his time is limited and wants to equip others based on his fundamental experience.

“I want to pass the baton to the next generation and say, ‘I can do this,” he said. “The key is to follow the great committee, enter into all worlds and preach the gospel to all living creatures.”

Watch the video above and you will also learn why we believe that sinners’ prayers are biblical.
