Questions – Ok, some questions – For the last day saints who received the patriarch’s blessing:
When was the last time you saw the patriarch’s blessing? Are you reading that? Is this reflected in the promises that have been realized and production? Have you thought about it? Did you pray about that? Have you studied that? So did you study?
It reflects the singular process of events in which the patriarchal blessing is often used – to receive – to get – a verb that is often used in relation to patriarchal blessings – in order to get them. But patriarchal blessings must be more than just one-off events or rarely reviewed and considered.
The topic page for the Patriarchal Blessings Gospel at churchofjesuschrist.org states: Provides guidance, comfort and protection. ”
And under the submarine of “Learn from the patriarchal blessing,” he said, “Those who have received the patriarchal blessing should humbly pray and read it frequently. It contains personal revelation and instructions from the heavenly Father, who knows our strengths, weaknesses, and eternal possibilities.
Two important phrases are “humble, prayer, read frequently” and “contains personal revelation and instructions from the Father of Heaven.”
We receive personal revelation and guidance from our Heavenly Father in many ways, including but not limited to inspiration, confirmation and encouragement from the Holy Spirit. Study the Bible; Hear and study the world of prophets and apostles.
Patriarchal blessings are one of the most direct and explicit means of revelation and guidance from heaven. It is given by name, spoken, heard, made available for copying, printing, archive, continuous reference and use.
Contemplating patriarchal blessings as “humble, prayer, often” provides an opportunity for the spirit to inspire, confirm and urge us, and inspire us according to what our patriarchal blessings have promised.
Have you considered studying your patriarchal blessings, as you study the Bible or the messages of the apostles and prophets? Are you studying the blessings of your patriarch, along with the Bible and inspired messages?
I have created a Word Process Document that contains the patriarch’s blessing text. Each sentence began a separate section. Below each sentence of blessing there are three subsections, each with its own bullet list.
The first subsection is titled “Bible and Quotations.” Here we have listed three to five biblical verses or quotations from the apostles and prophets that apply to the doctrines, teachings, instructions and promises contained in that one sentence. It is a way of studying and pondering my patriarchal blessings in Bible and apostolic teachings.
The second subsection of the bullet points, “Personal Thoughts,” allows you to pay attention to impressions and reflections while rereading and reviewing the patriarchal blessings.
And the third subsection, “lifetime experience,” offers an opportunity to explain exactly that. The experience of looking at directional outcomes and the promise of blessings detailed or occurring in my patriarchal blessings, and how I can continue to prepare myself for details or references of blessings.
It is also a place where I can realise that my understanding and interpretation of patriarchal blessings have continued to change and expand over the years.
Speaking at a prayer at Brigham Young University in 1988, President Russell M. Nelson heard the quorum president of the 12 apostles at the time. You can assert the Lord to fulfill those blessings through your faithfulness. ”
Returning to the points of the aforementioned questions and important phrases – we need to read, reflect, reflect and study our patriarchal blessings “humble, pray, often.”
As we do, we notice the advice found in the documents on the Gospel topic.
