President Russell M. Nelson announced the date of the open house for the reopening of Salt Lake Temple on Friday, February 14th.
The temple will be open to the public from April to October 2027, he said in a social media post.
“The current comprehensive renovation to strengthen this sacred Lord’s house for future generations is now approaching completion,” he writes.
President Nelson wrote that additional details will be released as the opening house date approaches. He then encouraged individuals to make time to serve in the temple closest to them in preparation for the reopening of Salt Lake Temple.
“I encourage you to cherish your time and service at the temple closest to you, in preparation for the reopening of Salt Lake Temple in 2027, just as the Lord’s House is scattered across the globe,” he wrote Ta.
President Nelson also shared an invitation to those who are not members of the Latter-day Saint Church of Jesus Christ.
“We warmly invite friends to learn about God’s plan for his children and please the love of Jesus Christ.”
When he announced the temple renovation in 2019, President Nelson stressed and emphasized that the renovation “emphasised and emphasized the life, mission and mission of Jesus Christ in his desire to bless all nations, tribes, tongues and people. On April 19, 2019, President Nelson initially detailed plans for the temple renovation as a project to “strengthen, refresh and glorify the temple.”
He announced at the April 2019 General Conference, just 12 days ago, the church’s plans to renovate and preserve four pioneering temples in Salt Lake City, St. George, Logan and Manti. I did. The latest update to the church prior to today’s Open House announcement came in January 2025 when vertical coring was completed and a new statue was installed in Temple Square.
