Prayer when you have a difficult family
By vivian bricker
Read and listen to the following:
Bible reading: “Do not repay evil with evil or S humiliation. On the contrary, we will repay evil with blessing, because you were called to inherit the blessing.” -1 Peter 3: 9
Most of us have at least one difficult family. They usually have a way to get under our skin and cause unnecessary stress. Through my life, my eldest son caused many problems to me. I am the youngest of three girls, but for some reason, my parents were always on the side of the eldest daughter, not the daughter of the middle or youngest. Even with a clear sign of abuse, my parents were always on my side, not my side, but my side.
My eldest son uses the mentality of the victim and is not responsible for her own actions. My father responds to her and supports her restrictions in her eating disorders. In my life, she often did not eat food for months. I don’t know how she survived this, but what I can imagine is that God has repented and gives him the opportunity to know him. Mental illness is not guilty, but they can do something guilty.
I may never have a kind family or a constructive family, but I can pray for them. Specifically, I can pray for my sister and ask her to help her. I have been doing this for many years. What I can do is keep praying for her and wait for the Lord patiently. Maybe you are experiencing the same thing, and you have a difficult family. Choose to pray for them instead of getting angry with them.
Even if our family makes a lot of evil to us, we cannot repay their evil to evil. Instead, we must repay their evil with kindness and blessings. The apostle Peter said, “Please do not repay evil by humiliation or S humiliation. On the contrary, we will repay the evil with blessing, because you were called to inherit the blessing.” Peter 3: 9). As a follower of God, we need to follow this guidelines and be kind to us.
Family should not be mean to us, but they can often be the cruel people for us. If you have a difficult family, follow 1 Peter 3: 9 to avoid returning evil with evil. Even when they hate, be kind and compassion, and be affection for them. We cannot control their actions, but we can control our own actions. With this in mind, we need to praise God in our actions and to be kind to those who hurt us most.
Let’s pray:
Dear Lord, I have a difficult family that causes a problem every day. Please help me not to get angry or irritated by them. I don’t want to return evil with evil. Help me to repay their evil with blessing as you called me. Inspire my step and give me comfort. In your name, I pray, the Lord, Amen.
