Prayer for grace when you ruin
by: Amanda Idlman
Bible reading: “The law was brought in so that intrusions increased; however, as sin increased, grace increased even more, so that grace may reign through righteousness, to bring eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Romans 5:20-21
Read or listen to the following:
God’s grace is greater than our sin. What good news!
The older I get, the more keenly I am aware that I am not inherently a good person. Leave it to my own device, I am tempered, selfish, tired easily, greedy, gluttonous and strict. The idea that I am a “good person” and therefore can make it in heaven by my own merits becomes increasingly unreasonable as I grow up for years. I’m not good at all, I desperately need a Savior.
Is there anything related to it? Are there some of your stories you want to change? Is there a need to feel sin, weakness, or that it attracts you even before you have the opportunity to stop yourself? This is the human condition. We are breaking those who need a good God.
The sooner you recognize the great need for blessing, the faster you will be able to obtain it. God offers us His forgiveness. All we have to do to receive it is to reach out to him, confess our sins, and ask him to change the way we do things by his power. The Spirit of God gives us to overcome our breakdowns and write a better story in our lives. His grace not only forgives us, but also helps us to change, grow and live in the light.
Often, our own shame stops us from grabbing and grabbing this amazing free gift. We feel that we need to hide because we deserve grace. When we tell this lie, we get stuck when we buy that we are loved and not allowed. Our sin will become us.
You’ll be freed from lies. Accept the truth that Jesus and His grace are greater than our sin. There is no dark power that cannot be exhausted by light. Step into the light, and over time all the dark and evil things burn out.
When we believe that his grace is possible, we believe that it will change our relationship when things start to change, and more importantly, when things start to change. In my marriage, we are stuck in a cycle of sin and shame. Once I accepted grace for myself, I could extend it to my husband. I also hoped that sin, which is very familiar to me, could be overcome by the power of God at work in my life.
God’s grace is a miraculous worker. It is the power to defeat sin and death. Greed has been given to us, and we hope that it is where it is and will grow forever.
Let’s pray:
God, we thank you for your abundant blessings! It is stronger than our sin. I hope I can overcome my worst mistake. Give me strength to seize this incredible grace. Shut up the enemy’s lies. I want to open up my heart, accept how much you love me, fully understand, and live in the right relationship with you and others. Cover my sins with your blood. Change me so that I can repent and start living in a new way to honor you. Amen.
