“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson has passed away. He was 79 years old.

Tragic news was confirmed Sunday by his son Willie Robertson and other family members.

“We celebrate today with my father, husband and grandfather Phil Robertson being with the Lord,” the Instagram post read. “He frequently reminded me of Paul’s words: “You will not grieve like those without hope. I believe that Jesus died and rose again, so I believe that God will bring Jesus with those who put him to sleep.”

A statement from Robertson’s family expressed gratitude for his prayers and love through his ministry, the fans that Phil Robertson has influenced throughout his life, the hit show “Duck Dynasty,” and his ministry.

“I am grateful for the love and prayer of many who have influenced his life through grace, his bold faith and his desire to share the good news of Jesus with everyone,” the statement read. “We are grateful for his life on earth and continue our legacy of love for God and to others.

The family plans private services to celebrate Robertson’s life and will soon share details about the public celebration. The statement concluded with a reference to 1 Corinthians 2.

As reported previously by CBN News, Robertson’s son Jace revealed in April that Elder Robertson’s health was rapidly declining. He was diagnosed with a blood disorder in December, and is a sign that points to problems such as Alzheimer’s disease.

“(I) will tell you the truth,” Jace Robertson said at the time. “That wasn’t good.”

Phil Robertson’s journey to Jesus is widely documented, with the feature film The Blind dramatically portraying the path to faith.

As reported by CBN’s Faithwire, Robertson has long been urging fans to be baptized and embraced the Gospel. Much of that effort is rooted in his own spiritual transformation.

Long before the Robertsons became the family’s name, Phil Robertson faced a difficult journey, sparking non-stop laughter through the hit reality TV show “Duck Dynasty,” which runs on A&E from 2012 to 2017.

Early in his marriage to his wife, Kay, he was far from God-fearing people.

His life-changing story has affected millions of people, and helped “blind men” reveal it.

“I am embarrassed by my past on one side, but on the other hand, I am not embarrassed because my rotten sin was bought and paid by blood,” Phil told CBN believers in a 2023 statement.
