It is rare to witness the nature of corruption in modern Western culture, distilled by three different people at once.

In a clip posted on social media platform X on Monday, Nick Lachey, a former lead singer of the late 1990s boy band 98 degrees and now host of the Netflix reality series Love Is Blind, tried to embarrass the potential bride contestant and Ben Metzenga, according to Sara Carton of the potential bride and Sara Carton of the potential bride.

Meanwhile, author and reporter Megan Basham called Lachey and Netflix “I absolutely hate to take part in this anti-Christian struggle session.”

A larger context requires substantive explanation. However, the scene in question actually resembles the general struggle sessions during the cultural revolution of Chinese communist dictator Mao Zedong.

“One of the issues that came up was the issue of gay marriage,” Lachey said at the beginning of the clip. “And there was a special time when you said you couldn’t remember your church’s attitude towards gay marriage. That was true, maybe you simply didn’t remember, or maybe you didn’t want to acknowledge the reality of your church’s attitude towards gay marriage?”

If you haven’t yet recognized the world of entertainment as a demon, the framing of the question itself will defy beliefs.

“You said you don’t remember expressing your concerns about Chairman Mao’s big jump. Did you teach the truth? Or do you not want to acknowledge the reality of your own counterrevolutionary sympathy?!?”

Unfortunately, Mezzenga provided one of the most milk-ketoast reactions imaginable. He assures Lachie that he is genuine ignorance and states that he only tried to attend church every weekend.

“This is insane,” said Alana Mastrangelo, a journalist at Breitbart News, posted on X.

It may seem incredible, but Lachey met only as the third most reprehensible character in this sight.

Basham, for example, encouraged the embarrassingly lukewarm bride and groom Metzenga to “find themselves as quickly as possible.”

“I can hear if this man is going to die tonight. He “started from me, I didn’t know you,” Basham wrote.

Of course, the entire struggle session comes from Carton’s decision to leave Metzenga at the altar.

The future spouses assured each other’s love, but only Carton expressed reservations about the marriage.

“I love you so much,” she said at the beginning of the clip. “But I’ve always wanted my partner to be on the same wavelength, and I can’t do it today.”

Meanwhile, the service participants sat with their mouths agarp.

However, even after Carton had dishonestly claimed he cared about him, the expression of the future groom barely changed.

Metzenga still shows a hopeless simp’s expression, assuring Carton that he still cared about her. Incredibly, he still wanted to be with her and grow their relationship.

“We know,” replied the disgusting girl boss with a fake smile.

After a while, the drama princess left the altar, went outside and got into the car waiting for the couple. Two other women joined her.

After expressing gentle regret and promoting Metzenga’s virtue, Carton explained the real reason for her decision.

“Yeah, I remember asking him about the issue of black lives. I’m not an expert,” she said.

It should have given her the first clue about her own stupidity. If you know enough to think you’re far from an expert, why do you turn the question into a litmus test?

“But when I asked him about it, he was like, ‘I don’t think I’ve thought too much about it.’ That affected me,” Carton said.

“I asked him as if what his church views were and he said he didn’t know,” she added a little later.

If this was just an example of a disappointing future bride complaining about the intentional ignorance of a grown man, Carton might actually deserve some sympathy. But she wasn’t merely against his ignorance. She opposed the teachings of his church.

“So I watched the sermon online,” she said.

“From his church?” asked one of her female companions.

“Yeah, about sexual identity. And it was traditional,” Carton said.

Of course, Carton knew exactly what Metzenga had thought or hadn’t thought of before he reached that altar.

The two future spouses spoke in contrast to Metzenga’s ignorance, particularly in contrast to Carton’s exceptional awakening sensibilities, including her feelings about George Floyd, the 2020 death in police custody, which helped strengthen political interest.

“What’s so important is talking about what’s going on around us, right? You know, as our voices are really important,” said the boring and unbearable non-expert, who spoke to a pseudo-Christian in Vapid whom she thought was somehow married.

In short, everyone here came across as a repellent.

First, the awakened shrew dragged their courtship all the way to the altar. If she didn’t decide to ensure that she went viral, why would she do it?

Later, while abandoning Metzenga on TV, she still had the audacity to claim that she still loved him.

On the other hand, few competitors deserve such treatment than this particular Gilt groom. Aside from his lack of interest in politics and doubtful faith, he may be a decent person. However, his passive response to the carton’s silence proved that he deserves to be dumped, even if the future bride abandoned him for the wrong reasons.

Finally, Lachey played the role of Maoist Apparatchik. And the deliberately ignorant Metzenga sat there, not knowing what was going on with him and how to respond.

All said, the overall spectacle could not more accurately reflect the decline of the modern western.
