In a live, clear conversation, Rev. Mike Signorelli and former Hillsong leader Carl Lenz revealed the reality of spiritual wars, rescues and centres that are rooted in the hearts of believers, even those in leadership.
The battle for the heart
Lentz and Signorelli emphasized the importance of recognizing enemy tactics, especially when it comes to our thinking base. Many followers quickly identify external symptoms of demonic oppression, but more subtle internal battles (throwing off, shame, addiction, deception) are often not checked.
“It’s not that people who believe in treatment don’t discount the supernatural,” says Lenz. “If you’re really supernaturally tuned, you’ll be in the therapist’s office because you know what you need.”
Signorelli states the valid point that even though they know about spiritual wars, the people of God can still be lost.
“I knew everything about rescue and mental warfare, but I still fooled my wife,” says Signelli. “I’m still an alcoholic, but I’m still out of ministry.”

He also argues that a balanced lifestyle requires understanding both supernatural and mental health.
“You cannot advise the devil, but you cannot demonstrate any mental problems,” says Signorelli. “It’s cruel to tell someone it’s a demon when you need counseling. I was exposed to that imbalance and bad theology, so it’s actually cruel.”
Overcoming the heart’s base
The two agreed to it, and rescue was not just about kicking out the devil. It is to break the cycle of deception and bring about lasting transformation.
“Now I am God’s child, I love Jesus, I know that God has a plan for my life, and I can pursue that God has helped me with what was open for me,” says Lenz.

Lenz believes that the combination of focusing on both the spiritual and spiritual well-being of people is a way of seeing true resurrection occur in the body of Christ.
“God is kind in the way he unravels the truth, as if he releases the truth that he needs to see if he can sit long enough to make him do it,” says Lenz.
The conversation between Mike Signorelli and Carl Lenz serves as a powerful reminder that mental warfare is not merely external, but deeply personal. The heart’s base is just as oppressive as an outward attack, and it takes more than a moment to break free.
Their testimony emphasizes that failure is not final when surrendering to God. Rescue isn’t just about true freedom. It is walking every day in the transformative power of God’s grace.
