Editor’s Note: To support individuals and families in gospel learning, Church News has published an article about the message from the April 2025 General Conference. In addition to reviewing these church resources, we recommend asking and reading the full address.

About this story

Read the full message here. Read the summary of President Lund’s message here.

overview

Each January, approximately 100,000 young men are ordained to the Ministry of Priesthood for Life, and unite them through the ordinance “to Joseph and Oliver, John the Baptist, and to Jesus Christ.” Priesthood. In ancient times, the Lord entrusted the priesthood bearer of Aaron the authority to teach us and carry out the ordinances of the clergy, in order to remind him of his tone sin, all of which were of responsibility, including sermons and baptism. One bishop taught his deacon these duties, and they decided to visit and serve the “raf, often blasphemous, and sometimes hostile neighbors” whose wife was a member of the church. While opposed to their previous service and teachings, he became ill and asked the young man to pray to stop smoking. Eventually, Alan asks to be baptized, but dies before he can. Pronounally, one of the “Alan boys” was baptized for him. One bishop and his wife were traveling to the baptism of their son when they suffered the sudden loss of their two-year-old daughter. The next morning, no one had expected the bishop’s family to be in church, but the family quietly entered a few minutes before the meeting. Aaron’s Priesthood Bishop, his usual place presence, sat at the sacrament table. “He has declared some of the most powerful words that anyone can say loudly in this lifetime,” the sacrament prays. The bishop and his wife are now testifying to the blessings given by the Sacramental Ordinance. The Aaronic Priesthood holders “bless everything through the keys of baptism by angel service, the gospel of repentance, and immersive baptism for remission of sin (D&C 13:1).

Reflection Questions

How can I make participation in the sacrament more meaningful?

How did Aaron’s Priesthood bless your life?

What does the Sacramental Covenant mean to you?

Why can priesthood holders trace their authority to Jesus Christ?

What blessings have you found in the sacramental promise of having a spirit to always be with you?

Speaker quotes

“The Lord entrusts Aaron’s priesthood bearer to do the same thing he did in ancient times. To teach ordinances, to administer ordinances, to remind us of all ordinances, the Aaronian priesthood is called the celebration of preparation because it allows us to experience the joy of preparing to serve the future clergy to exist for the Lord’s clergy to exist for the future clergy. We pronounce inspirational blessings in an age where hopes and dreams, and even life and death, lies in an unstable balance.” “Serious expectations require serious preparation.”

Reference Bible

“Power and influence cannot be maintained only by the priesthood, by persuasion, long suffering, by kindness and meekness, and by unloved love.” The eternal father, they will happily remember the name of your son. Until the sons of Levi once again offered offerings to the Lord of Righteousness. ”

Invitations and promises

“We have witnessed the disruption of this very pattern of this world with respectful authority that spreads across the globe. These ordinances help Our Lady and the Clergy when they are blessed when they are blessed. They also separate bread and water for the roles and responsibilities of these priesthoods.

story

While sitting at the Sacramental Conference in January, President Rand was surprised as more than a dozen young men lasted for progress in the priesthood of Aaron. He found tens of thousands of butlers, teachers and priests appointed in every time zone around the world. Each January, more than 100,000 young men are appointed to the priesthood office. Alan, the husband of one member, was “a rough, often profan, and sometimes hostile neighbor.” While opposed to their first service and teaching, he eventually became ill and asked the young man to pray that he would stop smoking. They did so and confiscated his cigarette stash following his home. Eventually, Alan asks to be baptized, but dies before it happens. On behalf of the “Alan boys” was baptized with a proxy for him. After their two-year-old daughter was lost, the bishop’s family was surprisingly shown at the church the next day. The bishop was urged to sit between the priests at the sacrament table, not among the counselors. Eventually the bishop knelt with those priests and spoke to his father the sacramental prayer. Ultimately, this bishop and his wife testified that they had experienced the promised blessings of the sacrament, saying that they “have his spirit to be with them” (Doctrine and Covenants 20:77, 79).
