Christian actor and podcaster Kirk Cameron on Friday said he “can’t afford to lose the world” in a video honoring the 31-year-old activist who was killed.
In a nearly 20-minute video reflecting his legacy, Kirk leaves and compares the founder of Turning Point USA with a “modern version” of St. Telemachus, a gentle preacher known for quietly defending the peace of around 400.
“I think Charlie is a modern-day Telemakos,” Cameron said.
While in Rome, Telemachus jumped into the Rome Coliseum. There, a gladiators contest was underway after a victory by the Roman Empire, a common celebration after a successful military success. These bloody battles contradicted the values that the Bible and God place on human life, and Telemachus intervened and appealed to gladiators and the crowd to stop the violence.

But that didn’t work. No one heard it – at least not. Telemachus was stoned by spectators for his commitment to his Christian values.
News of the saint’s death quickly spread, and eventually reached Emperor Onolius. Soon after that, the gladiators contest was banned altogether. This is a direct result of Telemachus’ bold dedication to the faith.
“His courage and his sacrifices rocked Emperor Flavius Onorius to his nucleus, and soon the gladiator match was forever banned,” Cameron said. “The death of one man is a turning point for the entire culture of death. And I think Charlie is a modern-day telemakos.”
He continued, “The courage to speak the truth of (Charlie’s) love, the willingness to put everything on the line to respect God and care for others will not be in vain. Telemachus, Charlie’s death is the turning point of America. Truth, beauty, and I believe in God’s mysterious and wise providence.
Cameron goes on to say that he is “completely confident” because he is “with his hero” in “before Jesus.”
“He is part of a great cloud of witnesses read in the Hebrew books, cheering us on from the balcony of heaven,” he added, referring to Hebrews 12:1.
Cameron’s statement regarding Kirk’s assassination comes a day after Turning Point USA announced that it had unanimously elected TPUSA’s founder wife Erika as new CEO and chairman of the board.
“Charlie prepared us all for a moment like this,” the board said in part. “He worked tirelessly to ensure Turning Point USA was built to survive even the biggest tests, and now it’s our greatest pride to announce Erica Kirk as Turning Point USA’s new CEO and chairman of the board.”
A service ceremony to celebrate Charlie Kirk’s life and legacy is scheduled for Saturday at the Arizona Cardinals home in Glendale. Tens of thousands are expected to descend to the stadium. The stadium is expected to talk to President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
