During the week of February 16-22, President Darrin H. Oaks, the first counselor of the first presidency, shared an Easter message in a recent video. Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the 12 Apostles, Quarlam, spoke to Brazilian members about their missionary work as part of his recent ministry.
Elder Gerit W. Gong of the 12 Apostles, Quorum, spoke in prayer as part of his Mexican ministry. At the first concert in Temple Square in Lima, Peru, Elder Suarez of the 12 Apostles, Quorum, attended the tabernacle choir. Elder Patrick Caeron of Quorum, the 12 Apostles, spoke to the Caribbean youth in Guatemala for eight days of ministry.
A groundbreaking date for the Lethbridge Alberta Temple is set. The first presidency released the site and renderings for the Tuguegarao City Philippines Temple and Culiacán Mexico Temple Temple Temple sites.

1. President Oaks invites learning and teaches the resurrection of the Savior through Easter messages each year
In a recent video, President Oaks teaches you about the blessings that can come from a more concentrated and long-term commemoration of the Savior’s resurrection each year.
“Celebrate the a-Tonen sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It will lead to his resurrection. It is the most illustrious event in history,” President Oaks said in the video.

2. Elder Stephenson, serving in Brazil, teaches five ways to become a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ in preparation for his mission


In his dedication to Brazilian members, Elder Stevenson spoke of his own experiences in missionary work, highlighting the immeasurable importance of missionary work.
“Missionary work is extremely important in this distribution,” he said in prayer. “This is how people know us. They know us by the sight of missionaries walking on the streets.”

3. Elder Gong teaches in Mexico: “The Holy House of the Lord invites and declares holiness to the Lord.”


Elder Gong shared a message of invitation, hope and encouragement for Mexican members. They took the blessings of the temple and sucked them in order to live their faith in a way that blessed their lives and the lives of others.
“The Holy House of the Lord invites and declares holiness to the Lord,” said Elder Gong. Temples are more than just physical buildings. They are spiritual shelters, peace and God’s connections, he continued.

4. Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra will be holding their first concert in Peru
At the first concert of the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra’s Peruvian tour “Songs of Hope,” Soares Elder invited them to feel the love of God through music.
“It was a beautiful experience. The sacred hymns always give us inspiration and help us get closer to Jesus Christ,” Elder Soares said in an interview on Thursday, February 20th.

5. Knowing one’s God’s identity can be a source of strength, Elder Careon tells young Caribbeans


After reflecting on his own life experiences, Elder Kearon spoke to members of the Caribbean about the importance of knowing that they are God’s children.
“I wanted you to know what I know now. I am a child of God. It would have made that difference in my life,” he continued: “You are not alone because you are a child of God,” he said.

6. Temple News: A groundbreaking date for the Lethbridge Alberta Temple. Rendering and site announced for the Philippine Temple, Mexican Temple site


The first presidency dated the groundbreaking ceremony in April with Elder Randall K. Bennett, president of the church’s Central Region of North America.
In addition to the Tuguegarao City Temple site location, external renderings have also been released. Mexico’s Curian Temple will be one of the 13 temple presidents and the 17th temple in Mexico at the end of the general meeting on October 3, 2021, and at the end of the October 3, 2021 General Assembly.

9. Chilean Pioneer: Terminal Saints tell stories of faith and reflect on the growth of the church over decades


This year marks the 100th anniversary of Elder Melvin J. Ballard, an apostle of the early 20th century, prayered in Buenos Aires, Argentina in late 1925, and dedicated his gospel sermon to South America. 607,000 Latter-day Saints attend more than 570 congregations, with 11 missions and six temples in operation, announced or under construction.
