Are there any unknown threats that permeate our society?
In an interview with Robert Spencer’s founder of “Jihad Watch,” we discussed how radical ideology of jihad put our Western society at risk.
Spencer points out that today’s biggest global jihadist issue is “jihad against Israel,” which he believes is “very poorly understood” in the West. He emphasizes that “the key and important meaning is a war against the unbelievers to conquer them… under Islamic law.”

According to Spencer, the modern revival of political Islam can be traced back to 1924, when Turkish secular government abolished the caliphate system. This void prompted a movement like the Muslim Brotherhood, restored legitimate Islamic authority and resumed “aggressive jihad.” In Shia Islam, the same impulse helped to promote the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979, he says.

Spencer exposes the framework of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as a territorial dispute between two national identities. “Not,” he insists. “This is Islamic jihad.” Quoting the transformation into Gaza’s “large jihad camps,” after Israel’s withdrawal in 2005, he points to the Islamic teachings that once ruled by Islam, the land that must be reclaimed as “belongs to Islam.”

He also warns that the Western “parallel movement” – immigrants “for Allah” that aims to establish an enclave based in Sharia and transform society from within. Supposed by a statement from a Muslim leader in Europe and a Muslim Brotherhood document describing the mission of the US as “a kind of epic jihad… to remove and destroy Western civilization from within,” Spencer views it as part of the same comprehensive strategy.
A surprising element is the alliance between radical Muslims and the cultural left. Although they were ideologically opposed to issues such as sexual morality and family structure, they share the “same enemy” of traditional Western civilization.

In short, the outline of struggle Robert Spencer and Dinesh Doza is not merely a geopolitical or territorial conflict, but a deep conflict of civilization. It is important to understand this reality. The battle is for the preservation of not only land and politics, but also the moral, cultural and spiritual pillars that have long defined Western civilization.
