Prayer for high school graduates

Bible Reading:
“Therefore, anyone who hears and practices these words of mine is like a wise man who has built a house on a rock.” – Matthew 7:24
Listen or read:
Dear graduate,
Congratulations! You have made it into a brand new chapter in your life, and it is very monumental! This is your moment, a shining time, your new journey awaits, and the world is your canvas. Where do you cast your vision, open your heart, put your fingerprints?
A sweet ending always brings a wave of new beginnings. What an exciting! However, as the graduation ceremony approaches the end, the party and celebration are over, and you begin to prepare for what comes next, you may find it reminds you of many (probably new) emotions. When it happens (and I assure you, at some point, it will), consider these wise words hidden in the gospel of Matthew.
“Therefore, everyone who hears and practices these words of mine are like a clever man who built a house on a rock. It rained, the stream rose, the wind blows away, and the house hit. Still not based on the rock. And it fell in a great crash.” – Matthew 7:24-27
Jesus teaches our beloved disciples (and us) the important importance of our solid foundation. As you step into this new season, you will lean towards that wise leadership and rely on the teachings of your parents, church leaders and faithful friends. Accept the love they have provided and lead you and guide you in the courses you find today.
Now it’s your turn! You have the opportunity to build your life on “solid rock”. But we live in a world of constant chaos, and spiritual battles are real places and everywhere, so beware of the powerful storms that will come your way (Romans 12:2). Don’t be fooled!
But the good news is that your solid foundation is set up (Proverbs 22:6) and can (and can) withstand the enemy’s plans. Prepare yourself by dressing in the perfect armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and coming with you and surround yourself with fellow believers who will help you fight good fights (Proverbs 27:17). Yes, your friends and social circles are important and change the trajectory of your life, so choose wisely!
No matter what comes your way, remember that God is always chasing you (Zephaniah 3:17). He is always with you (Deuteronomy 31:8). He has your future purpose and plan (Jeremiah 29:11). He created you to do good work for his glory (Ephesians 2:10). If you give your life to him, he will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 20:4). And he is always so good, and desires nothing but good for your life (Romans 8:28).
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, when you accidentally get lost, leave your humble beginnings, or lose sight of your purpose, God offers you the way that you have returned to him through his words, covered in his rich love, mercy and grace. So whether you are on the highest peak or deepest, deepest in the darkest valley, God is always waiting, ready to whisper the truth in your heart and heart.
Get ready! This next chapter will be very good, because God is so good and so faithful!
From the heart,
Your fellow brothers and sisters are rooting for you
Let’s pray:
Faithful Father, we will come before you and offer thanks and praise to the high school graduates who have come ever and worked hard to reach this new chapter of their lives. We seek your strong hands to cover your love and their powerful hands with peace and protection. We pray for your wisdom and identification, when they seek direction, and your path is a place where they walk with humility and full confidence. We sincerely pray that you will bring in friends who are faithful to their lives and bring in the church community to grow and enrich their faith. We ask them to give them the courage to stand firm in their foundations, remember your precious promises, and come to you in many times. Lord, this group of seniors at high school are trying to make their mark in this world by trying to give them a calm spirit, an open heart, a firm, ready to stand firm in their faith, and a soft heart that seeks to find hope in your plans. We ask this in your holy name, Jesus, Amen.
