Prayer to help us celebrate our mothers
By Lynette Kittle
Bible Reading:
“May your father and mother be pleased. – Proverbs 23:25
Read or listen to the following:
Sadly, for others, their mothers failed significantly for a variety of reasons. Those who had no personal issues, support, resources, know-how, or motherly opportunities, and others who were absent mothers suffer from complex problems in their lives. It’s easy for people to get bitter towards their mothers, especially for those who feel that they don’t have a mother who loves them and cared for them, or who have committed their mothers but feel it’s their fault.
Despite the noble attempts of the mother, adult children who disregard their efforts and believe it is not enough will praise the sacrifices made for them and resent their lives.
Mother is also a person
The truth is that mothers are human beings, as beginners, learn along the way, and many begin to feel incompetent in the demands of maternal obligation 24/7. Many women enter motherhood, with their own weaknesses, and not knowing the unapproved issues of life. They are not prepared for what is ahead and find it difficult to organize between maternal practical training type positions.
Often new mothers start doing the same thing their mother did because they grew up. So they do their best they can and do a lot of hard work, with what they know and have in hand. They want the best for the baby, but they don’t know how it affects the child’s life in the long run. Sadly, some mothers feel like a failure long before their children grow up and point out flaws in parenting.
Imperfection does not deny God’s honor
Mothers are not perfect, but God places them in a position of honor or not. God has created this respected position, and is respected by both the young and old. Similarly, God has not given anyone his permission, especially adult children, to dishonor his mother, whether she deserves it or not. In reality, disgrace to a mother is a serious crime, and it has serious consequences.
As Exodus 21:17 explains, disgrace to mothers under Old Testament laws was strictly addressed, “Anyone who curses his father or mother should die.”
As Ephesians 6:2-3 urges, “I respect your father and mother” (which is the first commandment of the promise,” it means that you may well be able to do well with you and enjoy a long life on earth.”
How we treat and talk about mothers affect our lives in the long run, even determining the length of our lives and the depth of joy we experience. Whether we love our mothers or not, God calls us to forgive us and recognize that they have carried us into their bodies, gave birth to us, and gave us life. Carrying children and giving them life is a sacred call from God.
1 Timothy 2:15 says, “But a woman will be saved by childbirth.
God cherishes sacrificial contributions to mothers’ lives by giving birth to children. It is important and appreciated by him, and he calls us to honor, respect and bless us with motherhood.
Let’s pray:
Dear Father, thank you to my mother for carrying me in her womb and giving birth to me. Help me honor her with my thoughts, words and deeds by realizing that you gave me life through her. I forgive me for all my disgrace and dishonor her over the years, and soothe my heart to love, respect, respect, and even bless her today and every day. Lord, you have forgiven me, and I will forgive my mother for her weaknesses, imperfections, and failures as a mother. Encourage and lift my mother today and let her know her precious value. From this day onwards I will lead me forward, bless her, and bring her joy. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
