Prayer of surrender
By Tiffany Thibaud
Bible Reading:
“The Lord will fight for you, and you are only still.” – Exodus 14:14
Read or listen to the following:
News reports, relationship struggles, unexpected bills, and doctor updates are just a few of the things that are full of our time, and those circumstances bring them many decisions and emotions that can overwhelm every part of our mind and brain.
In our Western culture it is very common to present one of these mantras daily. “Staff for yourself,” “Fight for the truth,” “Don’t let anyone walk above you,” so when we are overwhelmed by the challenging situation where we want to face the issues, hurry to fight for our rights and make sure no one takes advantage of us. That’s what we expect in our culture. Even our legal system depends on those who want to do this.
When we are in an incredibly difficult situation, overwhelmed and even angry, there are some realities that we must embrace now. We must stand up for ourselves and ensure that the truth is always revealed. We should never allow ourselves to be used. But the reality is that the situation we face is too overwhelming for us to fight, or there may be no answer to the pain that precedes us in those dark times.
At these moments, we can think of the truth in Exodus 14:14. The Lord will fight for you. You just need to stay still.
We must be still. We must abandon the entire difficult situation, its unknown consequences and all its details, to the Lord, who fights for you. When we throw a white flag, we must abandon our fear and hope. We must refuse to fight it. We must give it to the Lord perfectly. Be peace. Whatever the situation is, know that the Lord is absolutely fighting for you, and when He fights the battle, it will become perfect. You just have to stand aside and let him do what he does in the fight.
There is another poem at 20:15 Chronicle. This is God, not yours. In each difficult situation you are in yourself, when you are surrounded by all sides by pushing force, you must look to the Lord and put the situation into the hands of very capable people. He allowed the fight to come to you. You must look to the Lord, surrender to him, raise your hand, and stick to his promise. Psalm sal 46:10 says this: Know that I am God.
This battle you face. It is the Lord’s battle. You should know that he is God in this. You are to stay still. You are to let him fight it for you until the very end. He is fine and he is following his words.
Let’s pray:
Lord, today I will stick to the promises this poem will give me. You’re there. You will fight for me in all the difficult and impossible situations I face. If you give up all these controls to you, I will raise my hand to you. Where I want justice, I trust you. I trust you wherever I want the answer. Where I want peace and hope, I trust you. I trust you in my relationships, finances, future and health. We are still waiting to determine how each of these situations will be resolved. I am still in my mind and in my thoughts, as I cling to you and your promises. I trust your words that you fight for me. I’m still and I watch you fight for me in every area of my life. Amen.
