Protective cover prayer

Bible Reading:
“Anyone who lives in the most expensive shelter will be placed in the shadow of the Almighty.” – Poem sal91:1 niv

I got a text message. My friend asked, “Kelly, can you pray for a protective cover prayer on me?” I had no idea what “protective cover prayer” was, but I realized she was in a dangerous situation. I knew she needed God’s help, so the weapons formed against her could not flourish. I knew she needed a sister to pray for God’s immeasurable protective power, so that she could protect her, and protect her in all her ways. All this circled my mind, and without knowing how to live up to her expectations, I turned to the Lord and sought the best Bible to pray. My heart has landed in Poem Sal91, Poem Sal of Great Powers. When you pray, it is powerful to work.
For my friend, I didn’t have time to pray the whole sal on her, so I focused on sal 91:1.
“People living in the highest shelter
You will rest in the shadow of Almighty. (a)
I prayed that my friend would draw to God Himself. I prayed that she rests under his shelter, under the ultimate protective cover for any storm. When I prayed, I wanted her to know that there was an inexplicable security under God’s shelter. It is the most powerful force field around. It’s bigger than an iron dome. It is stronger than the fortress built of the finest iron.
But we may not feel that God’s shelter is safe. Just because we are in his safety doesn’t mean we don’t see natural wars around us. You may see a bullet flying. We may hear people speak to us. We may hear the sound of gunfires fire everything around us. We should not be discouraged about it. When we enter the shelter of the highest one, we spit out our fears and trust him to protect him, even in the face of a natural war.
We walk by faith, not by sight. There’s no need to believe it. How many battles did God save you? How many times did he feed you when you were hungry? How many times has he answered a prayer he prayed many years ago? At the time, did you think it was impossible? Come to the highest shelter and know that you are safe even if you feel that you are not. He will protect you. With that space and place, you can finally rest that mind.
I’ll receive this for myself. The truth is that sometimes my heart feels faint. There is a fight that seems to have no end. This morning I asked the Lord, “God, why do I protect my heart and make sure it doesn’t grow slightly?” I didn’t hear the answer, but I knew the reaction. If God speaks to hear you, “Kelly, you have to trust me, when you come to me as a shelter.
In us, our minds need to rest. You too believe in your protective covering, so God has it for you too. He won’t let you fail. He won’t abandon you. He is a guardian and is good at his job.
Let’s pray:
Father, I ask you to protect me. I ask you to keep me in all my ways. Living under your shelter, the shelter of the highest, and give you the power to rest in the shadow of the Almighty. You are my safe haven. You are my hope. You are my best protection. Protect me in all my ways. Thank you for being the shepherd and keeper of my soul. I’m very grateful. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
