Prayer for missionaries

Most of us are not called to go abroad to become missionaries. But if so, are we willing to sacrifice everything? Around the 20th century, a man named AW Milne was part of a radical group known as the “One Way Missionaries.” Instead of stuffing things into a suitcase, they packed all their belongings into a co. They were ready to live the rest of their lives, wherever God sent them, no matter how long or short they were.
Aw Milne went to serve the tribe New HebrisIt is located in the South Pacific. Despite the martyr missionary who had gone before him, AW Milne lived there for 35 years. I don’t know how many tribes have come to know Christ, but when AW Milne died, the people he poured into his life wrote this on his gravestone: “When he came there was no light. When he left, there was no darkness. ”
This man left a legacy of light, as Jesus did for us. John 1:5 says, “And the darkness did not understand it, because the light glows in the darkness.” The light there refers to Jesus. I don’t deny that we live in dark places, but if some missionaries live it, it can look even darker. They are at the forefront of spiritual warfare and need our consistent prayer and support.
“The Spirit of Christ is the Spirit of the Mission. The closer we get to him, the stronger we become missionaries.” – Henry Martin
Let’s pray:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for sending people everywhere and wherever you go. I pray for all missionaries that spread throughout the world. You know exactly where they are and know their exact needs. I know if they are single, married, have children, or are ready to go back to heaven. Father, they are not the same as us. They have needs and fears, and tend to be discouraged. I hope you will meet and encourage them today where they are. If their funds are short, you will give them an increase. If they need medicine, you pray that you get it for them. If they need food, you pray that they will serve it for them. We also pray that we will meet the needs of one or two missionaries and remind them frequently so that we can pray for them.
Lord, I ask you to pray and give the missionaries extra courage and boldness. I also pray that you will soften their hearts to those whom they share the gospel. I pray that you will transform the hearts of people’s stones into hearts of flesh. Lord, you say today is the day of salvation. I pray today that you will bring abundant people to your kingdom, as they have heard the gospel. You are not repenting about your promises, you have suffered for so long, and you do not want anyone to perish. Please help send more missionaries this year. The closer we get to you, the more we think of you and pray how we can partner with you to build your kingdom rather than your own. God, you deserve our lives. Please tell us how you want to use us today.
Father, bless all missionaries in the world today. Let them remind them that they are not alone. Help them to be very aware of your presence and help them to feel our prayers for them. Silence the lies of the enemies that are telling them what they are doing. Lord, protect their hearts, their minds, their bodies. Rejuvenate and refresh them today through your words and prayers. I ask all this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
