Prayer for confidence when uncertainty, anxiety, or TI-disease strikes
By Kelly Ballery
Bible Reading:
“But when you ask, you must believe, and you do not have to doubt, because the doubter is like the waves of the ocean, blown away by the wind and thrown.” – James 1:6 niv
Listen or read:
The wind brute force is combined with heavy speed rain in preparation for situations that feel like a deadly combination. With my head down, moving forward without seeing where I was going, I somehow wanted to make it in the warm shop shelter in front of me. In some respects, it was probably good that I didn’t have an umbrella. Turning over in a half-hour storm. That would be another thing I have to fight. I pushed forward, but no matter how hard I pushed, my body seemed unable to walk in a straight line in the wind.
A gust of wind comes from the left and I move to the left. A gust of wind hits from the right and I go to the right. Walking in a straight line with a crosswind is almost impossible. Even in the storms of life, I have found that we can move us in ways that we don’t intend for them. I have discovered that walking along Jesus’ straight, narrow paths feels intense when the breeze of the steady, unwieldy wind is protected. Then I am thrown, in the face of the power that will distract me from perfect trust in God, and become anxious, suspicious, hesitant, ti-ill, passive, or anxious.
Have you been there? Maybe you need to make a decision, but you don’t know which way to go. Maybe you are leading a small group of people, but you doubt your words. Maybe you want to speak up at your team meeting, but you feel you are worthless. Maybe you want to talk to family and friends about the situation, but you just don’t know if you can tell the truth or not. Maybe you tried to make things right, but you can’t stop questioning the choices you made. Maybe you doubt your worth, skill, or call.
I know these ideas: Should I have…? Maybe that’s… if only I… don’t know how…
In James 1:6, the Bible says that this kind of thought throws us into the wind of confusion. Have you ever been to a previously thrown fitted boat? I feel nauseous. fed up. There are even people who lose the inside that makes it so bad. The oceans with strong winds make us sick and tired. Throwing too much will make you sick inside. This is not the way God designed us to walk. We are not intended to move left and then right. And we defeat our heads as all the winds are changing our course.
Instead, we will be like this.
Ask.believe.There is no doubt.
Do you hear too much? Well, that’s probably the point. It’s not as complicated as we make it. There is no need to worry and hypothesize, rehashing and anti-minating. Instead, we just ask and believe that the father is holding it in his hand. Then we trust. We will not regain what prayers we give to our Father. Let us quickly get it back from their hands, so that we never give anything to our friends – let us not do it either God or anything. When we trust God, we leave it to His hands. we believe. We are stable and not sick.
Let’s pray:
Father, I feel dizzy from all the uncertainty, ti-illness, anxiety I have walked. Would you please forgive me for the self-doubt, fear, or concern I am engaged in? sorry. I don’t want to walk hesitantly and doubtfully. I want to walk faithfully. I am full of faith, so the shadows that do not wind, storms, or change can move me. Here I ask you to help me with my distrust and fill me with fresh faith in order to believe in me. I cannot go on a new path without you. Would you like to equip me and encourage me again? I believe you will do this. With the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
