The Arizona courtroom has become a test ground for something that sounds like spiritual fiction.

At the first moment, Chris Perky, a man who died in the Road Rage incident, used artificial intelligence to “talk” the murderer across the grave.

“Gabriel Holcasitas, the man who shot me: In such a situation, it’s a shame we met each other that day,” said Perky’s AI-generated voice and portrait. This video was created by his sister Stacey Wales and her husband. He struggled to piece together digital tools to replicate his imagery and speech. Stacey called it “Frankenstein of Love.”

But no matter how well-intentioned, this is still Frankenstein. And that should be deeply concerned about us.

The Bible calls this type of practice necromancy. And it’s not just discouraged, it’s forbidden.

In Deuteronomy 18:10-12, God says, “Let no one be found in you… a medium or spiritualist, or someone who consults the dead… that anyone who does these things is something that should hate.”

Why is God so serious about this? The Christian apology site gotQuestions.org clearly explains it: Necromancy includes the devil. “It opens up those who practice it to demonic attacks,” they write. “Satan and his devil will not destroy us, nor will they share the truth or wisdom to us.” The first Peter 5:8 warns, “Your enemy is wandering like a roaring lion looking for a man the devil will devour.”

This form of AI mimics a forbidden attempt to elicit information and closures across the grave, no matter how emotional or moving. And God already offers a better way.

James 1:5 says, “If anyone of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God… it will be given to him.” That is the important difference. Necromancy does not depend on God for wisdom. It avoids him and seeks answers elsewhere. And the devil is always happy to fill in silence – lies and manipulation.

Yes, the court was moved. Even Judge Todd Lang said, “I love that AI. Thank you. I felt it was real.” But emotions can be deceived. And what is accepted here is the comfort of forgery, the digital ghost who plays in the role of a real man who has been handed over forever.

The voice may sound like Chris Perkie. It might look like him. But that’s not him. And opening the doors of these technologies is not only ethically questionable, but mentally dangerous.

We now live in the age of AI, and Christians must remain based on the truth of the Bible. Not all innovations are progressing. Some are modern tools for ancient deceptions.
