Almost three years after a groundbreaking development, construction work is currently underway at the Heber Valley Utah Temple. The building of this first home in Wasatch County, Utah, was originally postponed.
Sam Penrod, a spokesman for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, issued the following statement on August 26th:
“Wasatch County issued a building permit to the church for Heber Valley Temple almost two years ago. The permit allowed the church to begin construction of the temple, but the construction was voluntarily postponed by the church during the judicial review of the suit filed against the county. The temple.”
The Heber Valley Temple is one of 32 operations under construction or announced by the Lord’s House in Utah. He is currently participating in three other temples in the state under construction: Lyndon (April 2022 onwards), Smithfield (June 2022) and Ephraim (August 2022).
About Heber Valley Temple
The Haver Valley Utah Temple was announced on October 3, 2021 by President Russell M. Nelson. At the same meeting, he announced the reconstruction of the Provo Utah Temple – later renamed the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple – is currently underway.
The ground broke for Heber Valley Temple on October 8, 2022, and President Nelson presided over the ceremony and offered prayers to offer the site for construction.
President Nelson shared the history of Heber City’s settlement and the growth of the Valley Church, including the missionary work of Heber C. Kimball in the 1840s and the First District created in Heber in 1860.
“There will be more,” President Nelson said of the city’s Latter-day Saints. “The valley will continue to be a fruitful nursery for the dedicated and dedicated members of the Church.”
In prayer on the site, President Nelson expressed his gratitude to his Heavenly Father for the work performed by those early pioneers.
“We are deeply grateful to our ancestors. They have laid the foundations of our spiritually strong faith. Learn who they are, find out what they are, find their qualified information, and bless their lives with sacred rituals in this sacred home.”
