Christian Alliance for Orphan will mark the 20-year ministry at the annual summit of 2,400 supporters from 46 countries at Brentwood Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee, September 17th-20th. I celebrated.
CAFO was founded in 2004 at a conference of 29 Christian leaders in Little Rock, Arkansas. Leaders felt God’s calling to “sing” the church to care for orphans at the summit. Interest increased, and 500 leaders gathered at the same summit three years later.
Approximately 369,000 children were in the US child welfare system during the last data period of 2022, according to a report from the Adoption and Foster Parent Analysis and Reporting System.

CAFO President Jedd Medefind opened the event by encouraging participants to pursue God’s will.
“God’s great interest in your life is not something we can achieve for him,” Medefund said in his opening remarks. “It’s not even the very good job we were called to. He could do those things well without us if he wanted. … His great interest in your life is no good. I’ll run deep into it.”
God’s greatest good is nothing more than the one who told the attendees, “the one you are becoming.”
“It’s going to follow the portrait of his son,” he added. Every day, you and I will grow steadily like Jesus Christ. ”
The summit included contributions on God’s transformational work in communities such as Possum Trotto, Texas. Rev. WC Martin and his wife Donna were attending the summit with Donna from the unintegrated community.
In 1996 they adopted four foster children, and their fellowship, Bennett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, felt inspired enough that 22 families in the congregation adopted 77 children. These young people came from a difficult background with abuse and neglect, but God worked in that situation. The story is told in the film Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot.
The summit released three new worship songs, “The Faithful Me,” “Family House,” and “A Father-like” as reported by Christian Daily International.
Inspired to reflect God’s hearts for orphans and vulnerable people, this song is written by people who are on their own personal journeys of adoption and upbringing and those who have missionary involvement. He was done.
Meanwhile, two new books have been released during the event for parents and caregivers, allowing children to support their resilience. Overcoming: The Bible and Science, on Resilience, doctors Nicole Wilke and Mandy Howard, Caleb Koala’s Comeback Ride: A Journey to Overcome, a Bilingual Picture Book written by Wilke and illustrated by Aica de Lopez .
