When I was a little kid, there was something that drew me to the church. I took it to myself to walk to church when my parents couldn’t. I was not a follower yet, but God was still working in my young heart. In my 20s, the Lord began to draw more and more towards my heart. He used a variety of people to attract me to me for over a decade. I refused the call at first, but it softened when Jesus opened my heart To really receive him. Conversion happened quietly without fanfare, but in my heart and soul I gave my life to Christ in my early thirties.
Whose testimony differs and this is a digest version of my readers, but many of you may be involved in a longer process of becoming a follower. Even if you had no past experience of God that would pull your heart, you were a sudden conversion, but God still called you. But if we become followers, will he stop calling us? It’s definitely not! In fact, our call has just begun!
When the Lord ordered Moses to build the tabernacle, he called out those who would do the work. Not only that, he gave them the skills to do so. “Behold, I myself have appointed Ooliab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, along with him, and in the hearts of all the skilled men whom I have placed their skills, they may make everything I have commanded you.” Exodus 31:6 These workers were hand-picked by God to complete this most important work for the Kingdom of God. Not because of their abilities, but because he gives their hearts the skills they need to complete their desires and tasks.
Fast forward to 2025, there may be no tabernacles that need construction, but there is a dying world that needs Jesus! Our appeal to our lives as Christians is more important than ever, especially in light of Charlie Kirk’s martialism. He was the epitome of sharing the truth of love. You might think, “Oh, well, I’m not as knowledgeable about the Bible as he is.” Or, “I am too introverted to talk to others.” We are all convinced that we can excuse why we are not a good ship in the capacity of our workers for God’s kingdom. But we all have a call into our lives to share the love of Christ and the gospel. Yes, we are not all called pastors, speakers or teachers, but we are all called in our unique God-given ways. laborer For the Kingdom of God. Let’s break down the call…
I still hear his little voice.
When I was officially evil in the sky, I was clung to Jesus. Meanwhile, the Lord began to “talk” me about leading women’s Bible studies. I told him you have the wrong girl and I don’t have what you need to lead like that.
Still, the little voice continued… I mostly said to the Lord that if it is what you want, you need to make it happen. That week, when I attended a Bible study of women, I was approached by one of my current leaders. I immediately remembered that the Lord was calling me about this and my “challenge” if you would. At that point, I knew that the Lord was with me when I led the women. I didn’t have to worry about the perceived inadequacy I thought I might have. Not only that, he had my name in the hearts of other women. Not because I was great, but because I was God.
If you feel that the Lord is tweaking you to do something for God’s kingdom, open your eyes and ears as to how he will confirm it. Be obedient and open, and see how God moves you to that position. I promise you will be amazed. When he calls what is called, he does not make a mistake.
“And your ears hear the words behind you and say, ‘This is the road, walk in it,’ and turn right or left.” Isaiah 30:21
Step outside your comfort zone
As a leader in Bible studies and a MOPS mentor, I began to feel God wants to speak in front of women. The desire was terribly confused. I am not a public speaker in any stretch! But then I was approached about speaking in front of a MOPS group of about 60 people. Remembering to speakers for my previous call to my heart, I agreed. The day has come, but I was sick with a cold. “Really, God?” I was already outside my comfort zone. Now the cold has relied on me even more on him. Even outside of my comfort zone, the Lord reminded me of what I say, seeking the help of an index card. I was physically shaken the whole time, but then everyone told me that he seemed very calm to me. That was all the main thing!
Follow the phone calls that take you outside your comfort zone. In fact, most kingdoms work. probably It’ll be outside your comfort zone. But mostly you can do it. Don’t shorten yourself. He is qualified for the phone. He placed that desire within you. Don’t scare you, but you will become an obedient craftsman for the Kingdom of God. I promise that the Lord will be with you and will give you the grace you need.
“Behold, I myself have appointed Ooliab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, with him, and in the minds of all the skilled men whom I have placed their skills, they may make everything I have commanded you.” Hebrews 4:16
Working with God’s only power
The Lord blessed me with ministry. What began as a call to lead women’s Bible studies continues with me as the pastor’s wife. As an introvert, when I do myself in that role, it’s like an in vitro experience.
experience. I don’t realize I am. A woman who is confident in approaching people with intention, like extroversion. As I walk through His strength, He works through me. This is supernatural for me. Every Sunday, I don’t want this strength (although I can certainly do it!), but he is already working within me.
Remember, The Lord never calls in your life to have him not planned for him to exist, or to give you the strength and skills necessary to complete the work. trust God’s promise that he is your shelter and strength. rely On his strength as a craftsman for the Kingdom of God.
“I will walk in the strength of the Lord God. I will declare your righteousness – you alone.” Psalm 71:16 “I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
I share my experiences as templates, but not necessarily as a desire. Your phone may look very different, but that’s more than that important For the Kingdom of God. Mothers are called to raise children, love and serve the Lord. You may be caring for aged parents, no one sees, but more quiet and heartbreaking work important For the Kingdom of God. You may be a school teacher who is the only model for Christ’s love and compassion for those children. You may be a business professional who sets the moral tone of your office and models Christ within you. You may feel called to evangelize. Whatever that was, God has called you to those situations at this point.
The Lord helps me to be contemplative, hear your still small voice, trust and follow the phone you have in my life. In the name of Jesus
1. Is there anything that makes you feel like the Lord is called to do for the Kingdom of God?
2. How would you answer that call?
