“We don’t pray.”

These were words spoken by the mayor of a city in Southern California who was trying to silence Tallinn Swain, the mother of six who opposed what she described as a “social transition” for her daughter at the hands of the public school system.

Swain attended the Ventura County City Council meeting on March 18th, where he took him to the platform to oppose the proposed community autonomy, rights and equality (care) policies. Partly, “The laws claimed by the City of Ventura and its law enforcement must not participate in federal law enforcement to curb the enforcement of criminal provisions binding violations. With approval from an authorized healthcare provider, care will be provided with parental consent in the case of minors in accordance with current California law.”

If approved, this policy will make Ventura a “sanctuary city” for LGBT advancement and abortion among children, and will be referred to as “reproductive rights” by the language of the law.

As for Swain, she said that the staff at her daughter Penny’s school “says they changed her name and gender in class and that it protects me,” and that “the teacher recommended her inappropriate male gay ‘Adult’ book without my consent.”

So when Swain, the marketing manager for Moms for America, took the podium, she said, “I am a mother of six and the Ventura County public schools have socially transitioned my daughter without my consent,” and said, “Lies, lies, lies!”

She pushed her against me:

“God the Father, I will only come to you in the name of Jesus,” Swain prayed. “Father, I pray that you will demolish the bases of this place. Father, I pray that you will raise men in this room.”

By this point, her mother was facing a fierce booing and as she was about to end her prayer, Ventura Mayor Janet Sanchez Palacios interrupted her and said, “We should not pray. Please finish your comments.”

Again, Swain pushed her against her.

“I pray all this in the name of Jesus, the Son, the Father, the Holy Spirit,” she concluded. “(j) Esus is the king of the king, and he is the lord of the lord.”

In an interview with Christian Post, Swain said he was not going to pray from the platform at first. But her plans changed when she realized how little time she was and the points of her pre-written story were too long for a one-minute time slot.

Christian’s mother admitted that she was caught with the off guard by the mayor’s ordering him to stop praying.

“In the beginning, the crowd behind me was so loud that I couldn’t even hear the mayor tell me to stop,” recalls Swain. “I later expressed that in an age where men from the community came to me and attended hundreds of Ventura City Council meetings, I have never seen anyone stop praying. For me, it was evidence of the power of prayer.”

To be fair to Sanchez Palacios, she called out protesters and urged the speakers to stop interruption. She told the crowd, “We’re all adults. You can do better.”
