The UK-based Christian rights group accused the Church of England of promoting “awakening indoctrination” through the newly revised anti-bullying guidance of schools and eliciting incisive criticism that it allegedly replaced biblical principles with progressive ideology. However, the church defended the guidance as a biblical call to treat all children with dignity and compassion.
Christian concerns denounce the newly updated guidance, released last month and applied to churches of England schools, calling it a “apologies for awakening.” However, the Church of England argues that this document provides a biblical framework to prevent bullying.
At a press conference issued on Monday, May 13th, Christian concerns argued that the guidance serves as a tool for critical theory. This is an ideology that challenges traditional social force structures and is often associated with cultural Marxism.
The group further argued that the church’s approach is “built on the basis of intersection, not on biblical equality.”
According to Christian concerns, C of E Guidance defines human prosperity as allowing children to fully “explor and experience” aspects of protected traits, such as sexual and gender identity.
“This guidance assumes that we are all alienated or privileged by the intersection of personal characteristics and multiple aspects of identity, such as class, religion, and ethnicity,” Christian concerns argue.
“The Christian definition of human prosperity is to survive God’s purpose for our lives, including a sacred, pure lifestyle. It does not involve encouraging people to live an identity and desire that is contrary to the morality of the Bible and their best interests.”
The latest guidance from the Church of England said, “Once again, it shows that they did not support Biblical morality in the 4,500 schools they care for.
“The previous important thing to cherish the guidance of all God’s children was quoted in court against faithful Christians who simply expressed biblical beliefs. A deep and troubling reflection on the direction the church is taking. This is a shocking indictment against E’s C.
Williams said the new prosperity of all guidance is not in favour of authentic Christian principles on equality and morality, but rather advances a secular, ideologically driven agenda and follows the same thing about the trajectory.
She urged Christian teachers to refuse to lead the Church of England and to “keep faithful to the biblical truths that children need to hear.”
“We are ready to protect Christian teachers and pastors if they get into trouble with c c c to express their Christian beliefs,” Williams vowed.
However, when he presented a series of allegations from Christian concerns, a spokesman for the Church of England responded to Christian Daily International, “prospering a clear biblical approach to bullying prevention, rooted in the understanding that every child should be made in the image of God and treated with dignity and compassion.”
Section 3.2.1. The revised guidance speaks to the legal requirements of the 2010 Equality Act, which protects people from discrimination (both direct and indirect), harassment and harm based on actual or perceived protected characteristics.
These nine protected traits under this Act are listed as age, disability, gender reallocation, marriage and civic partnership, pregnancy and childbirth, race, religion and belief, sex and sexual orientation.
The C of E document emphasizes that it is illegal for schools to discriminate, harass or suffer victimization of students or prospective students in areas such as admission, “access to benefits, facilities, or services, how they provide education, or “expose students to other disadvantages.”
Christian concerns interpreted this section (3.2.1). The pastor said, “We should never express a genuine Christian view of Christian sexual ethics in absolute terms, and if they discuss such subjects, they should always qualify them by making it clear that all Christians follow such beliefs.”
According to rights groups, the case of Rev. Bernard Randall serves as an example of how such proposals can unfold in reality. Randall suffered from being fired, and he was reported to Terrorist Watchdog Prevention after preaching a sermon inviting students to determine his views on LGBT ideology.
“They didn’t have to subscribe to it,” the Christian statement of concern added. “This sermon was preached in 2019, and E of E continues to brand Dr. Randall the protective risks of sermons that simply pose questions about LGBT ideology, indicating how intolerant ethics questions e is.
Furthermore, the appropriate group pointed out that E’s C changed the definition of students called “transgender” to “LGB/GQ,” meaning “gender question,” which was followed by a widely publicized recent Supreme Court decision defining biological sex.
“The fact that it is necessary to promote the secular government (the courts and the Ministry of Education) directing church leadership towards a slightly biblically accurate pastoral approach is awful,” the Christian concern argued.
He then cited several cases supported by the partner organization, Christian Law Centre. This involved parents who challenged Church of England authorities over policies that allow children to transition gender socially. One example is Nigel and Sally Lowe, who voiced concern after her son, Anglican school, supported a six-year-old who had undergone a social gender transition.
“Laws was called Transphobic by the Parish of Portsmouth, but is now proven by the Supreme Court,” the Christian Statement of Concerns added.
Another example is the firing of her employer, C cist teacher Glawdys Ledger, from E-School, to express her biblical beliefs about transgenderism and homosexual behavior during lessons in religious education.
Christian concerns believed these and other examples “shows how far away E.C. is from sharing Christian visions for education.”
“The newly updated anti-bullying guidance shows that E’s C remains resistant to the teachings of E’s Christian values,” the rights group commented.
