On June 1st, an 18-year-old middle-class Coptoc Christian woman from Upper Egypt went to school as usual, but later a Muslim student attempting to force her to convert and marry her. , to Muslims who were caught up in the web of administrators, police, sheikh.

Assiut’s network of Muslim girls at her school has been targeting her for two years with WhatsApp and Instagram chat groups, and is trying to instill doubts in her by emotionally distanced from her family There was. this month.

When identifying the missing student solely as “ammani,” the Muslim girl said she was guided by a man from the strict Salafi branch of Islam, who tried to lure Christian students to Islamic prisoners.

“When a Christian girl follows the advice of a friend and asks the Islamic system, the girl is quickly converted and a restraining order is issued to her family with the help of a high-ranking security official to further quarantine. It prevents her and her from seeking help,” Coptic solidarity entitled “Hidden Crime, Public Deception: The epidemic and forced disappearance of Coptic women and girls.”

A good student who had a good relationship with her family on June 1st said she would go to her final exam and return in the afternoon. She did not arrive at school. By midnight, the family began to ask about the hospital.

When they went to her school the next morning, the administrator assured her that she had arrived the day before, but refused to show them their attendance records, claiming they had been sent to the district office. He also did not show them any camera footage. Only when they went to the police and the officers accompanied them to the school would they be allowed to see records showing that Amany had not arrived.

Amaney’s sister, in Coptic solidarity, when they leave school, police officers threaten her and create a story that explains her loss of disappearance by saying that her sister is in a romantic relationship, that is, not chaste. He said he tried to make it possible.

Reports say police who claimed that they accidentally disappeared are a common pattern of involvement in sexual issues.

“Increasing the loose stigma of sexual morality is particularly sensitive in cultures where feelings of shame related to gender-based religious persecution already exist and are abused by perpetrators,” the report states.

The officer then went home with his family to search for clues.

According to reports, Amaney’s sister said. “At home, he kept searching for my sister’s papers, searching for letters and notes. On the way, he had taken my two phone numbers, so when we got in, one of them A thud squealed and she heard her voice, and then he kicked us out of the room and took the phone inside, without hearing what she was saying or what he was saying, I finished the call and then he deleted the number my sister called.”

Amaney’s uncle told Coptic solidarity that in Amaney’s conversation with the officer for less than 30 seconds, he heard the family say “I’ve left.”

“I don’t know what he did or told her,” he said. “I don’t know. We weren’t allowed to talk to her.”

Her uncle added that her forced disappearance was intended to humiliate Coptotic Christians.

“This is a plan that humiliates our faith and does not humiliate the girl personally, but has nothing to do with the manners (moral values) of the girl,” he said. That’s what Coptic Christians are.

The family later found audio recordings and group chats on Amany’s Instagram account with a girl named Amira and a man named Islam.

“Amira was a Muslim friend at the school and was part of the Islamization ring,” reported Coptic solidarity. “Islam was a young Muslim man introduced to Amaney by Amilla as a trusted friend who wanted to educate her about Islamic religion. In a conversation on Instagram, Islam was to Amaney. She attempted to end all contact with her family and convince her to marry a Muslim man for her own “interest and protection.” ”

Islam is sure that Amany wants to take him and Amira to Islamic recommendations and government agency Dar al-Foita, so she can make theological enquiries and Muslims If she wasn’t sure she would be brought home safely.

He also said that Sheikh Nasser, an Islam teacher they were going to meet for inquiries, “had expertise in converting and feeding, hosting and changing documents for work.” I explained it. The report stated. “He also added that Sheikh will get restraint orders from the National Security Police against Amany’s family, which means that upon her conversion, all contact with her family and friends will end, and she will not be able to do so. It seems to mean starting a completely new life somewhere else.”

Amanny’s family never heard of her again.

Growth Pattern

According to the Coptic Solidarity Report, acquiring, forced marriage, forced conversion of Egyptian women and girls to Islam is often around 10% Coptic Christians, often skepticism and complete I came across denial.

“These cases sometimes argue that women and girls are running away with their own free will Muslim men,” he says. “There have been many cases of Coptic women and girls voluntarily married Muslims and converted to Islam, but the number of missing lys and subsequent decisions to cut ties with their families were ignored. It is too important for the majority to ignore or assume the majority. Loss of is voluntary. In fact, the evidence shows the exact opposite conclusion.”

If the choice of an vanished girl or woman is voluntary, it is not difficult for local authorities to reach out to her and request that she recover contact with her family, but that is not usually the case, reported The book states. Amany was told that isolation from her family and marriage to a Muslim man was her only option after conversion to stay safe, which she said repeatedly.

“The decision she made while Amanee went to ask is unknown,” Coptic solidarity said. “The use of ‘grooming’ and forced separation from her family and community would have forced Amany to embrace life as a Muslim without the option to inform her wishes. ”

Often, the means of transforming Coptotic Christian women/girls have shifted from aging to deception, seduction, or “grooming.” “Grooming” is defined as the orderly building trust relationships with children, young adults, families and communities, manipulating, enforcing, or forcing sexual activity.

Penalties for children for trafficking are more severe than those in adult victims, so the perpetrator waits until the targeted girl reaches the age of 18 and acquiesces them. According to her family, Amanny disappeared two months after turning 18, but grooming began when she was 16.

Victims of sexual abuse or their relatives face abuse as well as opposition from authorities. Coptic Solidarity pointed to a report from the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH) that said sexual violence and harassment by Egyptian police officers and security personnel in detention centres is spreading.

“Women are targeted in most cases because their religious, tribal, or political affiliation can be judged by their appearance, clothing, or behavior,” the FIDH report states. “As a result, violence against women is collective violence against the community to which they belong.”

To help combat such abuse, Coptic Solidarity recommended amendment of Egyptian laws regarding the marriage of minors. and lawmakers/government officials who allow such crimes.

“For all involved in various crimes, immunity is the main obstacle to ending targets for Coptic women and abortion, forced marriage and forced conversion,” the report states. Masu. “The Egyptian government must accept reports of Coptic women missing and search for missing persons. “The Egyptian government must accept reports of Coptic women missing and search for missing persons. Working staff denying their obligation to aid or submit reports of missing persons. and to all officials who are found to be complicit in the loss of Coptotic women and girls, and to all officials who threaten or attack their families.

In addition to modifying the archaic protections of women to meet modern international standards from sexual violence and harassment in Egypt, the group has not enforced laws against perpetrators after being involved in aiding. urged authorities to bring legal charges against the authorities. , forced conversion or forced marriage has been proven. It brings in accusations against government employees and clergy who issue new conversions and marriage documents when achieved through coercion. Revoke the license from Muslim clergy involved in committing forced marriages and overseeing forced conversion. And make sure that the return girl and her family are safe from harassment and repeated aid.
