The 18-year-old woman reunited with her Catholic family after six months of confinement, forcing her to convert to Islam and forced her to marry a Muslim who accused her of her, saying The source said.

Huma Allah Ditta’s ordeal began on June 28th when he was unable to return home from work at a Lahore call centre. The next day, the Shadhara police.

He expressed concern that his daughter had been accused of an unknown person, but police did not take action, Vivi said.

“Even though they registered an FIR, the police did not make any effort to find Huma,” Bibi told Christian Daily International Morning Star News. “They kept asking us to name the suspects, but who can we nominate when there are no clues?”

It was a few days and there were no signs of humus yet. Bibi is a domestic worker with Ditta, with relative ties to van drivers, and a Lahore-based paralegal organization, a true spirit (CTS).

“The pressure exerted by the CTS legal team worked and police were able to track Huma’s whereabouts on August 4th,” Bibi Siad said. “At that time we discovered that Hama had been accused of a Muslim man named Abdul Bashit Bhat.

CTS filed a habeas-protection petition on August 7th to restore Huma, but in court she said she married her willed butt to conversion. Vivi said.

“The court exempted our petition after Huma’s statement in favor of the accused. We had no choice but to watch a leave with her aidtor,” she said. “Her appearance and behavior during the court case made it clear to us that she was not willing to do with the Muslim man.”

Hama’s parents and their legal team realized she was so terrified of her so-called husband in a visible way, Vivi said.

“We couldn’t challenge the court’s decision, but my husband and I decided to put this issue in God’s hands and began to pray vigorously for the return of our daughter,” she said. Ta.

The couple’s prayers were answered on January 16th, when Huma managed to escape Batt’s custody and reunited with his family.

“We were very relieved to see Huma, but the physical and psychological trauma she endured during the months she was raised left a deep scar on her soul,” Vivi said. I said that. “She spoke about how she was accused of on the way to work, forced to convert to Islam, and forced to marry. She also said, “How she was trapped in a room and verbally.” and revealed that he was physically abused and threatened with death if he tried to escape.”

The Catholic family was unsettled when the suspect continued to attack his daughter.

“On January 20th, Batt filed a lawsuit against us, claiming he had accused us of his ‘wife’ and asked her to recover,” Vivi said. “However, the court dismissed his case after she told the court that she married against her will and did not want to return to her so-called husband.”

She said the family still feared her daughter’s safety despite the court’s decision.

“We can pray in the hope that God will disengage him from our family. CTS is currently filing a petition to invalidate a false marriage. After this, Huma “We hope that we can resume her normal life,” she said.

Katherine Sapna, executive director of CTS, said Huma’s ordeal highlighted the vulnerability of young women in Pakistani, especially from religious minorities, and forced conversion/marriage.

“The Huma incident is not an isolated incident,” Sapna told Christian Daily International Morning Star News. “We have documented many cases of young Christian girls being accused, forced to convert and married to Muslim men. These cases have been attributed to powerful individuals and groups. It is often not reported due to fear of retaliation.”

Such cases underscore the urgent need to end the greater protection of vulnerable groups and the end of immunity that perpetrators of such crimes often enjoy, Sapna said. .

Pakistan ranked 8th on the 2025 World Watchlist, where it’s the hardest place to become a Christian.
