If you really want to melt your wife’s heart, say these four words to her – I’m praying for you. There is almost no doubt that within seconds of those words flying out of your mouth, that sweet smile you love will gradually spread across her beautiful face. She might shyly reply, “Really?” Or you could ask her what she’s praying for, but the idea that you’re praying for her will really mean more to her than you think.
The truth is, your prayers have power. They carry great weight against a world that is currently brutally attacking her womanhood and the beautiful design that God has created within her. Sadly, our modern culture is robbing her of her right to feel safe and secure, and society not only devalues it, but embraces it and even celebrates it. This is spiritual warfare. Your wife needs you to fight for her!
Your precious wife needs to know that you stand up for what is true, noble, and right. She wants to know that you will go to battle to protect her. Do you need that image? Think of Braveheart (or any other movie you think is appropriate) and have the courage to rise to the occasion. She needs you to be a strong and faithful husband who can trust and lean on her so that she can feel a wave of security.
You were made for this! You were made for battle. God designed you that way. And the best way to gain wisdom to protect and care for your wife and children is to join hands and seek the Lord. Your wife desperately needs your prayers. And yes, she wants you to tell her that you are praying for her. This will give her the confidence she needs. That’s it. Your marriage prayer tells her that you want to protect your marriage from all external attacks. Additionally, you want to give her the confidence that she is the woman God wants her to be.
So be prepared to fight for your wife in the way she needs you the most and pray for her. If you need a game plan, don’t worry. Thank you for your help. Below are scriptures and simple prayers to cheer up your lovely wife for each day of the week.
Let’s start praying!
Sunday: Prayer to help my wife feel fully known and fully loved.
Lord, you search my heart and know everything about me… Psalm 139:1-6 (This entire psalm is the perfect psalm to proclaim to your wife and yourself)
Lord, I pray that your love would be upon my wife. Imprint on her heart and speak to her thoughts that you see her and hear the cry of her heart. Help her lean into your truth about her and find comfort in your abiding love. Give her wisdom and the right words to give her compassion, comfort, and encouragement in her time of need. Amen.
Monday: Prayer for the wife’s role as a mother
Your mother was a lioness among lions! She lay between them and raised her children. Ezekiel 19:2
Faithful Father, I am so grateful for my wife and the abilities You have given her to nurture and raise our children. Each day brings its own challenges, but bless her with renewed energy and perseverance to help her endure. I pray that she will seek You above all else and trust You to guide and guide her as she fulfills the duties and tasks of motherhood. I entrust my wife and children to your loving care. Amen.
Tuesday: Prayer for your wife to find fellowship with other godly women
So let’s encourage and build each other up, just as you do. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Merciful God, You know that my wife craves community and friendship. Get a woman by your side who will not only encourage her to develop a closer relationship with you first and foremost, but also speak love and truth into all her relationships. Protect her heart and protect her from conversations that push her away from your good intentions while ensuring a safe space for her to develop meaningful friendships. Amen.
Wednesday: Prayer for the protection and safety of my wife
My God is my rock, my refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge, my savior – you save me from violent people. 2 Samuel 22:3
O God, protect the feminine and beautiful nature of my beloved wife. As the world becomes louder, confusing our roles as men and women, and targeting our identities, let her remember herself as your beloved daughter. Give your wife the courage to speak out the truth when she hears big lies and is ruled by worry and even fear. Also, grant me the strength to keep my wife and my children safe in the event of a malicious attack. Amen.
Thursday: Prayer for her to pursue her calling.
As a father has mercy on his children, so the Lord has mercy on those who fear him. Psalm 103:13
Jesus, you have given my precious wife so many beautiful talents and gifts. Guide her and help her understand how she can be used for your glory. Give her the confidence that she is worthy of the calling You have placed on her heart, Lord, and the will and desire to say “Yes” to You. Please provide a way for me to encourage her too, because as a husband I want to support her too. Amen.
Friday: Prayer for my wife’s hopes, dreams, and aspirations
May God fulfill the desires of your heart and may all your plans succeed. Psalm 20:4
Almighty God, You instill dreams with purpose in our hearts and ask us to seek You with our deepest desires. Connect with your wife and help her discover what sets her on fire. Open the lines of communication, soften your heart, listen to each other, and talk about what you both want for your future. Lord, show us where we can serve You with our passions, hopes, and dreams. Amen.
Saturday: Prayers for her overall health.
Dear friend, I pray that you are in good health and that your soul is well and all is well. 3 John 1:2
Heavenly Father, I commit my wife’s health to You and place her mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health in Your healing hands. Offer her a way to bring hope and healing to the wounds of this journey. Please give me the awareness to pay close attention to the subtle signs and notice when my wife needs a break or special care from me. Remember that you are our ultimate healer and source of peace and comfort. Almighty God, I love you. Amen.
Yes, it’s done. A prayer to cover your beloved wife every day. Use these as a starting point and adjust them to suit the needs of your sweet wife and family. May God equip you to be the man she needs. Then your marriage will flourish and prosper.
