The Trump Putin Summit, held in Anchorage, Alaska, has been waiting for a long time by the world in anticipation of a peace agreement to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. However, the meeting ended without a solid peace agreement. Here are three things I learned after the meeting.

1. Trump and Putin gathered with hopes of bringing peace to the world.

The meeting between the two leaders began with a handshake at Elmendorf Richardson’s joint base and walked along the red carpet. The meeting began around 3:30pm Eastern time, and there was no definitive timeline set. The meeting was thought to range from 4-7 hours. It ended up lasting for about 3 hours.

In the X post, the White House posted both Trump and Putin along with a simple catchphrase: “Purchase of Peace.”

This comes, of course, after Trump has made his goal to become “President of Peace.”

2. Trump and Putin negotiated with their aides on their side to oversee the conversation.

According to CBS News, President Trump brought Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Special Envoy Steve Witcoff to the summit. Russian President Vladimir Putin also took Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakova to negotiate.

In an interview along the way to Alaska, Trump said he was unable to accurately convey what would make the meeting successful to the media, but that he would be “not happy” if he didn’t reach a ceasefire contract during the summit.

To order Jonathan Cahn’s new book, “Avatar,” visit Amazon.com.

“I want to see a ceasefire. This has nothing to do with Europe,” Trump said. “Europe won’t tell me what to do, but they’ll obviously be involved in the process just like Zelensky, but I want to see a ceasefire quickly. I don’t know if it’s not today, but I won’t be happy if it’s not today.”

3. The meeting held an incredibly high interest for both parties.

For Trump, the conference meant receiving recognition as a president who could bring peace to the world. Even former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she would nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize if she could agree to Russia to a ceasefire. Unfortunately, Trump declared the meeting to be “productive”, but there was no agreement yet.

Meanwhile, for Putin, the meeting not only brought peace to his country and Ukraine, but also may have felt pressure from financial burdens if the agreement was not met.

According to NPR, eight pages about the meeting were found at a hotel in Alaska, left behind by the printer.
